The Ronbus Refoam R4 is a 14mm hybrid-shaped paddle built for hands battles at the kitchen line. The Refoam core gives one of the lowest swing weights on the market (106) without feeling hollow, making it an elite choice for reactive counter-punchers.
The Verdict
A hands-battle weapon with crisp pop.
This was the paddle I kept grabbing during long drilling sessions because it's just so easy on the arm.

How It Plays
Maneuverability leads this one.
Against our database
Compared with the 126 paddles we have scored.
On-Court Feel
The R4 plays incredibly fast. Drives have good snap, but the real magic happens in fire-fights at the net. The low swing weight lets you flick speed-ups with very little wrist fatigue, and the reactive face allows lightning-quick counters. The 14mm core means the soft game asks for more focus — catch a dink off the edges and the paddle torques slightly more than a 16mm Ripple R2 would.
Performance & Testing
The Ronbus Refoam R4 went through our standard on-court protocol - drills, rec play, and at least one tournament match. How it plays reflects consensus feedback from the group, not a single reviewer's opinion.
Grit & Durability
Raw carbon face provides solid initial bite. The foam-injected core dampens the harsh vibration that often plagues 14mm paddles, and the build feels structurally clean throughout. Grit retention has been consistent across drilling sessions.
Who It's For
Hands-first doubles players, reset specialists, and anyone with a counter-punching style at the net. Skip if you play singles or rely on plow-through baseline power.
- you want quick hands: a 106 swing weight against our 113 average
- Spin comes first for you. The Six Zero Coral 16mm Lightweight is stronger there ($180 with PRH10).
- Power comes first for you. The Aireo Cyclone Hybrid 16mm is stronger there ($179 with PRH).
