RPM Jade Compared: Widebody vs Elongated, 14mm vs 16mm
Last updated: September 2026
Four variants, one durable-grit face. Every one is $229.49 with code PRH.
Order the RPM Jade Widebody 16mm if you want the Jade line: it is the highest-rated of the four at 8.75, the most stable at a 6.9 twist weight, and the easiest to swing at 107. Take the 14mm widebody for more pop and less control, the elongated 16mm for reach, and the elongated 14mm only if you are a power specialist. All four list at $269.99 and drop to $229.49 with code PRH at RPM (15% off), and carry USAP PBCoR .43 certification.

Why RPM players want the Jade
The Jade is RPM's durable-grit paddle. Its face is SICmatrix, a silicon-carbide surface RPM builds to hold its bite longer than a standard carbon face, over the same MPP floating full-foam core and EVA perimeter RPM uses to make its foam paddles feel connected. For anyone who has watched a raw-carbon face go slick after a few months, that is the whole pitch.
It is also USAP approved at PBCoR .43, which the Honolulu Crystal Blue endurance paddles are not yet. Every variant is $229.49 with code PRH (15% off $269.99).

The two decisions, in the order you should make them
Jade is a 2×2 grid: two shapes, two thicknesses. Take them one at a time.
Shape first. Widebody or elongated is a bigger difference than the millimetres. The widebodies carry twist weights of 6.8–6.9; the elongateds sit at 6.0–6.2. That gap is why the widebodies score 8.6 and 8.2 for forgiveness against the elongateds' 8.2 and 7.8. Choose elongated because you want reach and a longer lever on drives, not because it sounds like the more serious paddle.
Thickness second. Going from 16mm to 14mm buys pop and costs control, consistently, in both shapes. On the widebody it is power 8.8 → 9.0 and control 8.3 → 7.9. On the elongated it is power 8.9 → 9.05 and control 8.0 → 7.6. If you already reset well and want the ball to leave faster, 14mm. If your soft game is the part you are working on, 16mm.
Run both decisions and you land on one of four paddles at the same price, which is a nicer problem than most brands give you.
Jade Widebody 16mm: the one to buy
This is the best-balanced Jade and the highest rated at 8.75. It has the highest twist weight in the family (6.9) and the second-lowest swing weight (107), which is the combination that makes a paddle feel easy without feeling dead. Power 8.8 and pop 8.7 are still strong; you are not giving up much to get the stability.
If you are buying a Jade for doubles, and most people are, this is the variant.
Jade Widebody 14mm: more pop, less margin
The 14mm widebody swings the lightest of the four at 104 and has the fastest hands (8.9 maneuverability). Power climbs to 9.0 and pop to 8.95, the best in the family outside the 14mm elongated.
Control drops to 7.9 and forgiveness to 8.2. That is the honest cost of the thinner core. Take it if you like a firmer, quicker ball and are confident in your resets.
Jade Elongated 16mm: reach without giving up everything
The elongated 16mm is the reach option that still behaves. 112 swing weight, 6.2 twist weight, 8.9 power and 8.2 forgiveness. Against the elongated 14mm it keeps meaningfully more control (8.0 vs 7.6) for very little lost pop.
If you want an elongated Jade, this is the sensible one.
Jade Elongated 14mm: for specialists only
The thinnest, longest Jade has the most power (9.05) and pop (9.0) in the family, and the lowest control (7.6), forgiveness (7.8) and twist weight (6.0). It is a drive-and-put-away paddle that will punish you off-center.
Buy it if you know that describes your game. It is not a first RPM.
Jade or Q2 Widebody?
Both are RPM foam widebodies with the same 107 swing weight and 6.9 twist weight on paper, and both take code PRH. The difference is the face and the timing.
Buy the Jade Widebody 16mm ($229.49 with PRH) for the SICmatrix durable grit and the newest RPM build. Buy the Q2 Widebody 16mm ($212.49 with PRH) if you want to spend less. It is our highest-scoring RPM at 9.2, on a standard carbon face.
The Q2 line also comes as a flat-top hybrid and an elongated; our Q2 comparison walks that family the same way this page walks Jade. Weighing the Jade against RPM's other grit face? See Jade vs Friction Pro V2. Against Honolulu's endurance grit? See Jade vs Crystal Blue.
Price, and how to use code PRH at RPM
