Friction Pro V2 Hybrid Flat Top 14mm is the thinner sibling of the 16mm hybrid: $249.99 or $212.49 with PRH 15%. Brand pitch is more pop, faster rebound, easier hands. Independent SW/TW data is still thin, so we score power and pop up and control/forgiveness down vs the 16mm hybrid. Preorder / first-run ship window on the PDP. Start 16mm unless you already like a thin, lively face.
The Verdict
Same hybrid outline as the 16mm. Hotter, less pillow.
The red face is the 14. Do not buy it thinking it is a softer 16.

How It Plays
Spin and pop lead this one.
Against our database
Compared with the 126 paddles we have scored.
- Top 12% for pop
- Top 13% for power
On-Court Feel
Same Friction Pro V2 chassis as the 16mm hybrid (CarbonBite, Axial Carbon, EVA ring) in 14mm. That usually means a quicker ball off the face and less shock absorption on a block.
If the 16mm hybrid is the doubles Friction Pro, this is the put-away version of that shape. Resets will ask more of your hands. My brother would only take the 14 if he already lives in thin cores.
Performance & Testing
The RPM Friction Pro V2 Hybrid Flat Top 14mm went through our standard on-court protocol - drills, rec play, and at least one tournament match. How it plays reflects consensus feedback from the group, not a single reviewer's opinion.
Grit & Durability
Same grit-wear story as other Friction Pro V2 faces. Same PRH 15%. Confirm 14mm in the cart. The 16mm hybrid is a different listing at the same price.
Who It's For
Aggressive doubles players who already like 14mm pop and want a hybrid instead of elongated.
Skip if you want the calmer Friction Pro hybrid. That is the 16mm. Skip if you want Q2 foam.
- pop matters most to you (top 12% of the paddles we have scored)
- power matters most to you (top 13% of the paddles we have scored)
- Control comes first for you. The 11SIX24 Vapor Power 2 is stronger there ($199.99 with PRH).
